What are the advantages of VOIP Telephone Systems

Internet

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone system is a technology that allows you to make telephone calls over a computer network or the Internet by converting normal telephone calls into digital data that is delivered over the Internet. The traditional telephone lines do not use the internet for communication.

There are several advantages of using the VoIP telephone systems over the traditional telephone line. The main advantage is that it is cheaper. When making a PC-to-PC phone call using a broadband Internet connection, no cost is incurred. When making a PC-to-phone call a negligible cost is incurred which is lower than the traditional phone call. Long distance calls using a VoIP telephone system do not cost extra like traditional phone lines do.

Another advantage of using VoIP telephone system is that it is potable and does not attract any costs when you decide to move to a different location. With the traditional phone system, a reconfiguring of the PBX must be done and in some cases a rewiring of the phone closet. This means additional cost whenever you relocate. However when using a VoIP telephone system these costs do not arise as the phone system is set in such a way it automatically configures itself when connected to the server in the new location.

The other advantage of VoIP telephone system is the added features that come with it. For example you can integrate email and VoIP. This means you can access voice mail thorough your email account, available through sites such as Lync Store. Other advantageous features in VoIP include call forwarding, call waiting and concurrent ringing across several phones. These and several more advantages in the VoIP telephone system are making it more attractive to individuals and businesses over the traditional telephone system.
