The reviewer admits to initially ignoring the product due to the price but later in the review says that the Powermat is now reasonably priced. Next the reviewer goes in depth about the packaging and presentation of the charger. The package contains simple instructions for use and a list of what is included. Though this may seem strange to note, these are important features to a consumer who may be unaware of the product and experience it for the first time by looking at the packaging in a retail location. Next we learn exactly what is included in the bundle. There is the iPhone 3G / 3GS receiver case, the iPhone specific Powermat, a mini USB cable and a power supply. Because the reviewer is British, they make note that the unit is US but comes with a US to UK adapter. The iPhone specific Powermat makes sense with the bundle but I feel as though the company should supply a Powermat that fits more than one device.

The reviewer was very happy with the receiver case provided with the iPhone Powermat bundle. He notes the rubber texture and the slim fit, much in line with other iPhone skins. A few possible issues are noted on the powermat review such as the inability to use the charging slot while the receiver case is on and also that the case does not provide screen protection. The reviewer tested the durability of the unit by dropping it on concrete from six feet height. The case held up fine. This is a great test because the normal consumer would never be able to try something like this and would have to find out about durability with the first real accident.

Next the actual Powermat is explored. With such a simple product there is not much to say. The unit is a small square that plugs into an outlet and has a groove from the receiver case to nest into. This effectively charges the iPhone without having to plug it in. The only problem the reviewer noted with the unit was the US to UK adapter. It did not fit correctly and had to be switched out for a better one. The Powermat Company should consider a better international power supply solution.
